Live the Faith! Preparing for the Fourth Week of Advent: Joy From New Life

December 18, 2018

“For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears,
the babe in my womb leaped for joy.”
– Luke 1:44

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
Gather with your family to read the upcoming Sunday’s Gospel and consider reflecting on the following question:
+++–       In what places in your life do you need Christ to come and bring
++++++.His life and joy?

Prayer:
Lord, as we prepare for Your coming, may we experience the joy of recognizing the ways in which you are actively entering into our lives with your abundant life. Amen.

Live the Faith! Preparing for the Third Week of Advent: Winnowing Fan

December 11, 2018

“His winnowing fan is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
– Luke 3:17

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
Take a few moments to reflect individually in prayer and perhaps with your family as well. Ask Christ, “Where is one place in my life that is useless, that is not bringing me closer to you, Jesus? One place that is like the chaff?” Then quiet yourself to let Him respond. Ask Christ for the grace to let go of or remove that place in your life and replace it with something glorifying and beautiful.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for this time of prayer. Give me the grace to take this one step so that we may walk together more united to each other today and always. Amen.

Live the Faith! Preparing for The Second Week of Advent: The Voice

December 4, 2018

++++.++.++“A voice cries:
++++.++.++‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord,
++.++++.++++make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
+++++.+.++And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
+++.+.++++++and all flesh shall see it together,
++++.++.++++for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’

+++.++.+++
++++– Isaiah 40:3,5

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
Take the time to read the upcoming Sunday Gospel (Luke 3:1-6) this week with your family. Consider asking each family member, “How is God actively working in your life right now?” Then see what conversation develops!

Prayer:
Father, may we ground ourselves in the truth that we are sinners who You have adopted as sons and daughters through Christ. May we always remember that our call to greatness flows from this identity and look to You alone for true fulfillment. Amen.
