Live the Faith! Accountability and Responsibility

July 27, 2021

“For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we wake or sleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

– 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:

As Catholic Christians, community and accountability are essential elements of our faith and our Church. We work together, worship together, pray together, and live together. And while we aren’t, strictly speaking, responsible for other people’s souls or salvation, it is a good and virtuous thing to take responsibility for them in doing anything and everything we can to bring those around us closer to Christ.

Take some time in prayer this week and ask the Lord how you can better hold those around you accountable and help bring them closer to Christ.

Live the Faith! Yes, Lord

July 13, 2021

“Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”…”

– Luke 1:38

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:

So many of us worry about the future. We worry about what we will do, what we need to do, and what God wants us to do. It can be difficult and stressful to discern God’s will when we feel like we don’t know where he is leading us tomorrow, next week, next year, etc.

Forget next year, forget next week, forget tomorrow even. Do not worry about the future, but rather simply say “yes” to God today. Ask Him to reveal His will for you today. And even if you still can’t quite tell what that is, say “yes” to God in prayer nonetheless. And be assured that if you take up this practice of saying “yes” to God, His will will become clearer day by day.
