Live the Faith! Joy in the Spirit

July 16, 2019

“For those who live according to the flesh are concerned with the things
of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit with the things
of the spirit. The concern of the flesh is death, but the concern of the
spirit is life and peace.
– Romans 8:5-6

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:

Call to mind the Fourth of the Seven Steps. Ask God to help you rid your heart of concerns over earthly things, and instead to help you Set Your Mind on the Things Above. Pray that He might bestow upon you the true happiness that can only be found through the Joy of the Lord.

Deacon Harold will be a featured speaker in TMIY  Year 5 – The Fight of Faith. Available this fall.

Live the Faith! with Dcn. Harold Burke-Sivers

July 2, 2019

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:

Take some time in your daily prayer this week to thank Mary for her fiat; for saying “Yes” to God and delivering Jesus, our savior, into this world. Think about what God is asking of you and ask His mother to intercede on your behalf for the grace to say “Yes” to God, just as she did.

Deacon Harold will be a featured speaker in TMIY  Year 5 – The Fight of Faith. Available this fall.

Live the Faith! Rethink Happiness

June 19, 2019

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
– Psalm 16:11

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
It is a constant temptation for us to seek happiness in worldly and material things. These pleasures bring us temporary satisfaction, but never a true, lasting happiness. Let us go through the process of Metanoia, to rethink our lives and realize where we find true happiness: in the love of our families and friends, and ultimately in the Lord our God.

Paul George will be a featured speaker in TMIY  Year 5 – The Fight of Faith. Available this fall.

You can find Paul’s book, Rethink Happiness, at his website here.

Live the Faith! Spoiled Clay

June 4, 2019

“And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.  Then the word of the Lord came to me: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? says the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.
– Jeremiah 18:4-6

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
All of us us sin and make mistakes, but God always shows us mercy and makes us new as long as we are truly penitent. Take some time in prayer to submit your own will to the will of God; ask Him to mold you into the man you were meant to be.

Paul George will be a featured speaker in TMIY  Year 5 – The Fight of Faith. Available this fall.

Live the Faith! With Paul George

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.
– 1 Corinthians 9:24

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
How does your competitiveness get in the way of your duty as a husband, as a father, as a Catholic? How can you work to channel that competitiveness in a way that serves your family, the Lord, and His Church?

Paul will be a featured speaker in TMIY  Year 5 – The Fight of Faith. Available this fall.

Live the Faith! The Door – The Real Life Story

May 7, 2019

“And if you be unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you
will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell;
but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

– Joshua 24:15

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
Do you notice any similarities between Matt’s story and your own life? Do you make your family a priority when you get home from work? Take a moment in prayer to think about Matt’s story and how you can apply what he learned to your own life, and how you can grow in Christ together with your family.

Live the Faith! The Door

April 23, 2019

“Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.

– Psalm 128:3-4

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
When you come home at the end of each day, are you truly being present to your family? Simply giving to your family members the time, attention, and love they deserve will change your life and theirs. Do your best to put away the laptop and cell phone once you get home and truly be present to your family.

my spirit rejoices in God my savior.

behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.
The Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.”
– Luke 1:46-49

Live the Faith! The Eye is the Lamp of the Body

March 26, 2019

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is sound,
your whole body will be full of light.”
– Matthew 6:22

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
The type of media we consume matters. Not only do illicit images and media corrupt our souls, they also have a profoundly damaging and addictive effect on our mind and body. Let us remember the 1st and 7th of the 7 Steps by honoring our wedding vows and seeking to avoid putting ourselves in potentially sinful and harmful situations.

This short video is taken from the Hope Undimmed series. Hope Undimmed will be available on Paradisus Dei’s digital video platform coming soon. It can currently be found and viewed on FORMED.

Live the Faith! A Lenten Invitation

February 26, 2019

“Behold, I will allure her,
and bring her into the wilderness,
and speak tenderly to her.”
– Hosea 2:14

Live the Faith! Tip of the Week:
Consider for a moment how God has worked in your life through TMIY. Then consider the millions of Catholic men out there who have never even heard of TMIY and who could benefit profoundly from the TMIY experience. Finally, please accept Steve’s challenge to invite the men in your own life and the other parishes in your area to join us in the Lenten Journey these next few weeks.
